SWEATER DISTRIBUTION

JANUARY 2025

Immediately after our return from Nepal, we embarked on a new project. In January of 2025, we sponsored 200 winter sweaters and caps to students in four different schools in the Khumbu region: Jaleswori, Sagarmatha, Chachami and Pasupati Basic schools.

WOMEN’S OUTREACH IN WAPSA KHANI & EVEREST BASE CAMP TREK

NOVEMBER 2024

Since our inception, not only children, but also women in remote areas of Nepal have been at the center of our concern. We are happy to announce that in November of 2024, after completing a trek to the Everest Base Camp, which was organized by Ram’s Dream Adventure Treks, we returned to Wapsa Khani with an international team representing Canada, Poland and the USA and carried out a very successful project specifically centered on women.

With the generous donations of our supporters, we were able to distribute 160 bags filled with hygiene items (feminine pads, toothpaste, toothbrushes, soap, shampoo and bath towels). We also delivered some school supplies to the children and filled the library with books donated by supporters from USA and Slovenia. When in Kathmandu we also spent half a day at International Kids School where we had a chance to visit with the faculty and interact with students.  We are extremely grateful to Kristin Sullivan, Alicja Pyrka, John McKay, Kevin Scoular and Tomasz Kurkowski for joining us on this trip, for contributing their time and personal resources and for bringing an incredible amount of enthusiasm to everything that we did during this trip.

RENOVATION OF WAPSA KHANI ELEMENTARY SCHOOL

SPRING 2023

In 2023 Wapsa Khani Elementary School remained our focus. We managed to raise enough funds to be able to replaster and paint the classroom walls and outside of the building. We also created a small library that will be filled with books this fall.

MERA PEAK CLIMB AND VISIT TO WAPSA KHANI VILLAGE

DECEMBER 2022

In November 2022 Nepal Without Limits team successfully summited Mera Peak, which at 6, 476 m (21,831 ft) is considered the highest trekking peak in the Himalayas. After the climb we trekked to Ram’s home town village of Wapsa Khani. We spent time with the students of Basic School who earlier in the year were equipped with uniforms, shoes and backpacks. During that visit, Nepal Without Limits also provided uniforms and school supplies to 150 students in two additional schools in nearby villages. We also met with the staff and toured a local hospital for which we sponsored some medical supplies during the Pandemic.

LIFE IN THE VILLAGE

During our two day stay in Wapsa Khani, we visited Ram’s parents and met some of his aunts and uncles. The village is beautiful.  It’s full of lush vegetation of flowers, bamboo and rhododendron trees.  Bananas, oranges, tomato trees, cardamon and coffee are grown there as well.  People are lovely and kind, but living conditions are harsh.

FUTURE TREKS AND VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

We are planning to return to Nepal in 2027 to trek the Annapurna Circuit and afterwards visit the sight of our inaugural project in the village of Lapubesi. We intend to provide aid to both children and women in that area as soon as possible, including providing sweaters this upcoming winter. Please consider supporting our efforts financially or by joining us on this trip.
